MIDDLE EUROPEANS WANT TO STAY IN THE EU, BUT DEMAND REFORMS

15 years after Hungary’s accession to the EU, those who wish to leave the block represent a marginal minority (11 percent), and the vast majority of Hungarians (79 percent) would like to remain in the EU. However, six out of ten Hungarians say that things are going in the wrong direction in Europe. The situation is similar in Central Europe, where 84 million of the 107 million adult population would prefer to stay in the EU, and less than 20 million people would choose to leave the block – shows the poll conducted in 11 Middle European states and regions by Nézőpont Institute for the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet.
