With six months to go till the autumn municipal elections, those who do not want to see Péter Márki-Zay become mayor of Hódmezővásárhely (46 percent) constitute a small majority against those who do (42 percent), reveals a publc opinion poll conducted by Nézőpont Intézet.

15 years after Hungary's accession to the EU, those who wish to leave the block represent a marginal minority (11 percent), and the vast majority of Hungarians (79 percent) would like to remain in the EU. Nézőpont Intézet conducted an online flash survey revealing that two-thirds of Hungarians (65 percent) think that Europe’s Christian culture must be preserved, and only one-quarter think (24 percent) that other religions and cultures taking hold on the continent must be accepted.
