Fidesz-KDNP may top its victory from five years ago (54 percent) at the European Parliamentary election on Sunday, according to results from the latest poll by Nézőpont Intézet for Magyar Nemzet newspaper.

6 out of 10 Hungarians (59 percent) or nearly 5 million people have a good opinion of the US. Only 1 in 5 (22 percent) said they had a bad opinion, which is half of the Central European average (40 percent), according to a Nézőpont Intézet survey conducted in twelve Central European locations.

„Central Europe has been put on the world map once again, and this is our achievement, Poles, Hungarians, Slovaks and Czechs together”, said Polish Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydlo at the conference „Europe of Central Europe” organised by Nézőpont Intézet and the Felczak Foundation.

With the approach of the EP elections, the governing Fidesz-KDNP is becoming more and more popular among voters (57 per cent), while opposition parties Jobbik (11 per cent) and MSZP (10 per cent) lost supporters between March and April, although this change was within the margin error.

Nézőpont Institute conducted a quick online poll, which revealed that the majority of Hungarians (54 percent) considers the statements of Ildikó Bangoné Borbély as outrageous.
